Helping Communities Shape Their Own Future Through Education

Volunteer or Intern

Volunteers:

Giving time is one of the most valuable contributions you can make to join and strengthen our efforts to bring education and literacy to children and women! Interested in helping out? Interns:

We are accepting applications for Summer 2014 Internships. The deadline for submitting applications is March 15th, 2014.

An internship with Barakat is a great way to supplement your graduate or undergraduate studies. You can get hands-on, practical experience working for a small non-profit organization. We're looking for hard-working, enthusiastic people who want to strengthen their skills and impact the world around them. And, because our U.S. staff is so small, you'll quickly have an opportunity to do important work—more than just making copies and getting coffee. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis!

General information for all internships:

  • All internships are unpaid
  • All internships can be done for academic credit based on your institution.
  • All internships are a semester long, with the possibility of extending.
  • All internships require 15-20 hours of work a week.

Interested? Check out our  internship list for an opportunity for you. Once you've found a match between your skills and interest and the internship at Barakat, send your resume and cover letter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
